Women in the 2020 Summer Olympics
Did you hear about this?
In this Summer Olympics, 58.4% of all U.S. medals were won by women!
Amazing, right?!
U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee CEO Sarah Hirshland told USA TODAY," We are so proud...What an awesome testament to the hard work of these incredible athletes and to those strong women who paved the way before them,..”
As an organization, we are thrilled to hear that not only was this the 4th consecutive Summer Olympics in which U.S. women won more medals than U.S. men, it was the 3rd consecutive Summer Games in which women outnumbered men on the U.S. team.
Over the past five years, Active Plus has been extremely proud to provide weekly classes to students at the Young Women’s Leadership School (YWLS), the only public all-girls school in NYC
During the start of the pandemic, Active Plus and YWLS refused to let the pandemic get in the way of providing crucial health & wellness education to the student body. Every week, a new 15-minute video featuring a warm-up, series of at-home exercises, and stretch routine was created and uploaded on the Active Plus YouTube channel.
Active Plus agrees strongly with Billie Jean King’s text, “ “If you give girls and women the same investment, opportunity and access, their potential, like all people, is unlimited,”.
