Active Plus' Structured Recess Program

ACTIVE+ ALL-STARS

SCHOOL FITNESS PROGRAMS

  • Active Plus offers an organized and intentional approach to recess that focuses on creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for students during their break time. The goal of a structured recess program is to provide opportunities for physical activity, socialization, and positive behavior reinforcement.

Structured recess programs typically involve setting up activity stations or providing equipment for games and sports. The Active Plus coaches oversee the activities and encourage positive behavior, conflict resolution, and cooperation among students. In addition, structured recess programs may incorporate character-building activities or social-emotional learning initiatives to support students' well-being and personal growth.

By implementing a structured recess program, schools can help to promote physical activity, reduce bullying, and foster positive social connections among students. These programs also provide opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, build confidence, and learn valuable life skills such as teamwork and problem-solving. Overall, a structured recess program can help to create a positive and supportive school culture that supports student success both inside and outside of the classroom.

  • Active Plus physical education program often includes a variety of activities such as sports, games, fitness challenges, and team-building exercises. Students may also learn about nutrition, the importance of physical activity, and how to develop healthy habits.

In addition to promoting physical health, our physical education programs also help to develop social and emotional skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership. By participating in physical education classes, students have the opportunity to develop a sense of community and improve their self-esteem.

Physical education programs can also help to foster a love of physical activity and encourage lifelong healthy habits. By providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain an active lifestyle, physical education programs can have a positive impact on overall health and well-being.
