Active Plus and Harlem Cycle Raise Funds for Child Fitness & Obesity Prevention

New Yorkers, particularly children and teens from lower-income backgrounds, do not have adequate preparation and opportunity in fitness and nutrition necessary to prevent obesity. At the same time, the act of quarantining can spark its own set of health challenges, such as stress on mental health and a lack of social connectivity, that can be addressed by digital fitness and cooking classes.

To meet the demand for high quality health and fitness education while keeping our communities hopeful, Active Plus is kicking off a month of crowdfunding to raise funds for continued programming - beginning next week with a Zoom fitness class hosted by Harlem Cycle with all proceeds going to the Active Plus campaign (June 2 at 7pm).
