Active Plus Internship Opportunities

Welcome to Active Plus! Are you a passionate graduate student eager to make a meaningful impact in youth development? Active Plus, a NYC-based nonprofit, is excited to invite driven and innovative individuals to join our team this spring and summer. This is a hands-on opportunity to work closely with underserved youth while honing your skills in program evaluation, community engagement, and nonprofit operations.

About Us
Active Plus bridges the health and education gaps by offering accessible programs that promote fitness, nutrition, mindfulness, and leadership development. We aim to inspire and empower youth to lead healthier, more successful lives while creating lasting community impact.

What You’ll Gain as an Active Plus Intern:

• Hands-On Experience: Observe program delivery and gain valuable insight into the field of youth services and social-emotional learning (SEL).

• Skill Development: Contribute to program evaluation, planning, data collection, and community outreach efforts.

What You’ll Do:
As an intern, you will play an essential role in the planning, execution, and evaluation of Active Plus programs. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing evaluation plans to measure program impact.

• Researching and proposing new activities that align with program goals.

• Preparing session materials, tracking attendance, and monitoring engagement.

• Collecting participant feedback and compiling data for reporting purposes.

• Creating promotional materials and maintaining our social media presence.

• Supporting volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling.

• Assisting with special events, such as community engagement days or celebration events.

Eligibility:
We’re looking for graduate students with a passion for youth development, social-emotional learning, and community impact. Preferred skills and experience include:

• Strong research and writing skills.

• Knowledge of program evaluation and data collection.

• Creativity in workshop design and participant engagement strategies.

• Familiarity with social media management and content creation.

• An ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and communities.
